Whether you’re an experienced backpacker or a first-timer, we have all the resources and knowledge to help you feel fully prepared and ready to go. We also have our team side-by-side with you to answer any questions and be your go-to for anything else before or during the trip.

A 501(c)(3) Organization meeting those at the intersection of underrepresentation and economic vulnerability.
Our mission is two-fold:
1.) To provide gear, outdoor excursions and outdoor education for free or at subsidized cost
2.) To connect participants with volunteer opportunities, internships, jobs, and post-secondary education resources to create a pipeline from outdoor recreation to outdoor industry careers.
In these ways, we can create economic equity in outdoor recreation.
3Peaks Training offers a FREE 2- week training program for each individual that partakes in our trips. Often, the physical demands of backpacking are not realized until you’re a few miles into your trip with a heavy pack on your back. This partnership will allow 3Peaks Training to help YOU build strength-endurance, so you (and your muscles) are ready for sustained efforts while on your trip. For all who sign up for a trip with Focus Backcountry, you will be receiving a free complimentary 2-week strength training plan curated for backpackers to get you started. In addition to the free 2- week workout plan, 3Peaks is offering a 6-week strength program for only $55 ($100 value) that you can do independently, or with the help of a coach.
MER (Mountain Equipment Recyclers) is our local provider for all rental gear. MER is a retail and consignment store selling new and used high-quality equipment located in Colorado Springs. Gear includes camping, backpacking, hiking, and so much more. If there is something on the packing list that you do not have we can work with our partners on acquiring it.
